We start to socialize our pups as soon as they're born. First, we start holding the pups and even singing to them! I make it a priority to hold each pup, caress them, and talk to them from the day they are born. In the first few weeks we introduce them to new sounds, and new environments. At six weeks we start introducing them to other dogs. Socializing puppies at a early age helps them to cope with their future life away from their mother and their litter mates. It also helps make a smooth transition to their new home and family. Your pup, depending on their age, will have the following exposure and training:
The command to, "Come here"
How to use a "doggie" door
Exposure to other dogs, ( a boxer, poodles, and other retrievers)
Exposure to standing in water
